Need a chainsaw? Get Active

By Sue Meeken

Charterhouse Richmond has introduced the Active range of chainsaws, designed to be rugged enough for professional foresters, yet easy for occasional users to operate.Chainsaw.jpg

The result of three years' development, the Active line-up encompasses lightweight models that are ideal for all day working, and heavy-duty machines suited to the most challenging tree-felling and logging work. Ergonomically designed for high work-rates, the range includes versions with 40cm and 45cm chain bars.

High standards of quality are maintained throughout the chainsaws, because every component - even including the engines - is made in-house at Active's own factory in Italy. The chainsaws are designed for maximum power and performance, and they also meet all the latest legislation and regulations concerning vibration and emissions.

"We are extremely excited by the potential of the Active range," says Philip Threadgold, Managing Director of Charterhouse Richmond. "These machines can meet the requirements of all users, including groundsmen and turf care professionals who may only require a chainsaw occasionally but need to ensure it is of the highest quality. Hand-arm vibration has become a major Health & Safety issue regarding the use of hand-held equipment, and operators and managers can choose Active machines with confidence. We encourage people to try the units themselves and to literally feel the difference."

The Active range is constantly being developed. A new top-handle model is scheduled for launch next year.
