Wiedenmann’s Super 500 gets the nod
"Choosing machines to take to a show can present you with a bit of a dilemma," says Wiedenmann UK Area Sales Manager, Chas Ayres. "You want to show off the diversity of your range, yet bring the machines that have built your reputation for quality and excellence."
Wiedenmann, famous for their range of deep spike aerators, has opted to bring three Terra Spikes and the versatile Super 500, their multi purpose turf care machine, to Harrogate.
The Terra Spike XD arrived in the UK early summer 07 after being really well received in the American market. "What sets the XD apart," says Chas Ayres,"is that it can aerify all fine turf down to 11 inches quickly and reliably. Typically it halves time previously spent aerating."
"We're bringing the Terra Spike XP because it's highly productive, well regarded and always attracts attention. The nippy Terra Spike GXi is a winner for golf greens and tees, offering major time and cost savings because only one machine is needed where two were used before. By being able to aerate up to 10 inches deep but at the speed of a shallow aerator, the GXi can carry out work in half the time."
And then came the hard decision, to opt for just one machine from Wiedenmann's constantly increasing range. "We've literally doubled machines since 2005. Aside from our five technically excellent Terra Spikes, we have some cracking MCS collectors; a separate range for each of snow, dirt and artificial turf maintenance; a heather management system as well as some of the best professional rotary mowers around, "continues Chas Ayres.
"Eventually we've decided upon the Super 500 because lots of professionals team it with a Terra Spike to give them year round turf care," he mused. The Super 500 can be used as a verticutter, flail mower, turf sweeper and collector and comes with high dump as standard. "The four machines we're highlighting are all geared to greenkeepers, groundsmen and local authorities who are looking for robust equipment which give optimum performance day-in, day-out."
