Mytime Active has announced that Hatchford Brook Golf Course in Sheldon will be open to the public on Friday 6 December after completely refurbishing the pay and play golf course and clubhouse.

This is the second major investment in the region from Mytime Active who last year took on a 50-year contract to run Birmingham City Council's seven golf courses. The organisation re-launched Pype Hayes Golf Course, Gym and Clubhouse in August 2013 following a £2m refurbishment.

The revamp of the Hatchford Brook clubhouse has taken place over the last year and has seen the former building transformed into a state-of-the-art leisure facility.

The new clubhouse now boasts a stylish bar and café, high quality changing rooms and a modern 100 station gym. The venue also includes a new 24 bay all weather flood lit driving range with a Power Tee system. Improvements have also been made to the golf course.

Cllr Ian Ward, Deputy Leader Birmingham City Council said, "I am delighted to welcome the re-opening of the course and clubhouse at Hatchford Brook, and the superb facilities now available to the local community.

The recently reopened Pype Hayes golf course and clubhouse was the first stage in the investment plan that is transforming the golfing experience across the city, thanks to the partnership between Mytime Active and the city council; I know that Hatchford Brook will offer the same excellent standards".

Mytime Active is confident that the developments will improve the golfing and leisure offering to the local community.

Mytime Active Chief Executive, Steve Price said, "We are pleased to be re-opening this refurbished facility, our second major investment project in the Midlands this year.

Our goal with all our investments is to create an affordable, accessible and enjoyable place to play golf and get fit and active, and Hatchford Brook is no exception.

We hope the changes to this facility will open up the golf course up to a wider variety of people and enable us to attract more golfers and local people keen to improve their fitness and wellbeing by using our golf course gym.

Steve added, "This re-launch also further cements our successful partnership with Birmingham City Council".
