Hybrid reels

John Deere’s 6700A E-Cut runs on a three-cylinder diesel engine but the drive for the machine’s five quick-adjust reels is electrical.

A 200-amp alternator supplies power to the reel motor controllers, minimising 90% of the risk of hydraulic leaks and saving up to 30% on fuel by operating at reduced throttle when mowing.

Fully connected

All John Deere’s turf products are now delivered with in-built connectivity.

That includes the 6700A E-Cut which is fitted with a modem and can be activated by the operator and dealer.

This means managers and operators have the ability to track their activity and location live in the John Deere Operations Center. Diagnostics and maintenance can be scheduled, improving efficiency and saving money.

John Deere has also launched its comprehensive PRO Golf software which facilitates management of the whole golf course, from machine fleet to greenkeeping team.

Similar to other John Deere golf products, the TechControl display on the 6700A E-Cut is the main operator interface with the machine and is programmable by a supervisor to control maximum mowing and transport speeds, as well as engine RPM.

The alternator, controllers, and motors are designed to allow the machine to perform rigorous verticutting applications.

Noise levels are also reduced by up to 3db at reduced throttle, making the 6700A one of the most efficient, cheapest, cleanest, and quietest mowers available to greenkeepers.
