Worfield 0046.jpgWorfield Golf Club, located in the heart of the Shropshire countryside on the gentle slopes of the former Wyken Estate near Bridgnorth, are operating a fleet of 12 electric RXV golf cars purchased from TH White Ltd, the local E-Z-GO distributor at Redditch.

The 18-hole, par 73 championship course is 6,660 yards long and features a testing par five 9th hole of 547 yards, which is guarded by a large water hazard in front of the green. Other facilities include a large practice area, practice putting green, chipping and bunker area and a pitching green.

The course opened in 1991 and has co-hosted the English Men's Senior Championship, while also hosting the Midlands Scratch Stroke Play, the Midland PGA Assistants' Championship and numerous County events.

William Weaver is Managing Director of the club and says,
"We are on free draining loam sand which means we are open virtually every day of the year and, because of the ground conditions, we can run our buggy fleet for most of that time as well. We have an excellent catchment area, which includes Wolverhampton, Dudley, Telford and Stourbridge and attract many golfing societies from the Birmingham area. The buggy fleet is an obvious draw for societies; it's one of the first questions we're asked when we take an enquiry.

Worfield 0038.jpg"When we were looking to bring in the buggies, I spoke with Keith Smith at Burghill Valley Golf Club and he recommended the new E-Z-GO RXV. We had a demonstration of the electric model and it was obvious that this was, by far and away, the best golf car for our needs. We originally ordered 10, but they were so popular we had to order a further two more to meet demand. We are delighted with them; marketed right, which means clean, highly visible and available, they generate very good levels of revenue for the club."
