Why the Wisley's Exclusive in more ways than one with Toro
As part of its continued investment in its facilities, The Wisley in Surrey has committed to a new Toro five-year exclusivity agreement.
A true private members' club, The Wisley's general manager Wayne Sheffield says that the deal is part of a programme of improvements, which also includes a major clubroom uplift and the £1.3million Garden Nine refurbishment - earning the club the only UK place in the finals of Golf Inc magazine's International Renovation of the Year competition - in the last year alone.
"Here at the Wisley, we continue to invest in our facilities to meet the highest expectations of our membership," he comments. "Although already a longstanding Toro customer, the careful planning of our greenkeeping equipment turnover is vital to ensuring the fleet matches our stringent quality demands. As such, this more formal commitment gives us significant service enhancements while allowing us to plan our equipment replacement more effectively."
The club's course manager Stephen Byrne adds: "The Toro fleet has served us well in the past, as has the back-up we get from our local dealer John Shaw Machinery, so it made good sense for us to continue our relationship with Toro, albeit more formally by way of a partnership agreement."
