Walter Woods gives his seal of approval to the new Soil Relievers



Being such an advocate of this type of cultural practise, it was hardly surprising that Walter wanted to look at the new range of Southern Green machines which are currently being introduced to the UK at this year's Saltex Show by David Jenkins Turfcare Equipment Ltd.

Walter was most impressed by the speed of the machines, together with the robust nature of their design and build. He thought that the larger machines were ideal for fairway and general work, and that the SR54 Cushman mounted Greens machines would be extremely useful for all year round aeration on fine turf.

Walter said "I particularly like the way the machines operate with the majority of their weight mounted over the tines creating a smooth action throughout the whole of the machine and its transmission. Of special interest to me was the SR54 which could be mounted either on a tractor or a Cushman. To my mind the Cushman combination gives the Greenkeeping staff the best of both worlds, quick and efficient mobility around the Course, together with effective aeration for fine turf both in summer and winter.

The new Southern Green Soil Relievers can be seen on David Jenkins Turfcare Equipment Ltd. Stand No. V44 at this year's Saltex Exhibition.

The SR54 is currently available in the UK at the Special Saltex Introductory Price of £9,975 + VAT
