Vandals wrecking Orton Meadows Golf course

Mindless vandals have left the Orton Meadows Golf Course in Peterborough counting the cost after they stole flags and destroyed their precious fairways.
Owners of the course, in Ham Lane, Orton Waterville, say they are being besieged by anti-social behaviour after dark.

Their main problem is the theft of more than a hundred golf flags each and every year, which - at £15 a time - cost the course thousands of pounds.

However, they have also been hit on numerous occasions by damage to the turf itself by yobs digging up the greens and fairways.
