Turf health is high on the agenda for greenkeepers at this time of year, and forms the focus of the Bayer stand at next year's BTME.

"Ultimately, the healthier the grass plant, the better chance it has of standing up to disease threats, and the more likely it's able to recover," says Dr Colin Mumford, from the Bayer Turf Solutions team.

Plant health forms the basis of Colin's BTME seminar, taking place at 14:10, Tuesday 19th January where he will highlight how the use of the correct formulations can safeguard healthy, playable turf.

The seminar complements the main focus of the stand, and will offer guidance on maintaining optimum plant health, by giving insight into how formulation technology can improve turf quality, and enhance drought stress reduction through factors such as improved root development and reduction of oxidative stress in the plant.

The rest of the Turf Solutions team will be on stand number A46 to discuss your turf related issues. On the Bayer stand, grass samples displayed on plinths will showcase how Interface® with StressgardTM Formulation Technology benefits turf health.

"The turf grass samples on the plinths will show how Interface® with StressgardTM Formulation Technology controls disease, helps drought stress reduction, and enhances plant health, by displaying grass plants that have been treated with the product, against grass plants that haven't," says Colin.

Visitors will be able to see exactly how healthy the treated turf is when compared with the untreated turf, using TurfSpy™ glasses, specially designed by aerospace research company NASA, which are also up for grabs in a competition.

Also on display will be the Bayer TurfXpert App for visitors to experience. The app, already downloaded by over 4,000 industry professionals, is fast becoming a vital identification tool for weeds, pests and diseases.

"And for refreshment, there's a Berocca bar on stand, where we will be giving out free Berocca, to highlight the research and resources that Bayer as a company have behind them," Colin adds.
