Technical Surfaces Called in to Keep a Clean Sheet
The water-based synthetic sports pitch at the University of Exeter was under the spotlight for the recent Four Nations Invitational Tournament, an annual Hockey competition in which teams representing England, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands participate in a series of matches to win the coveted silverware.
This year's event was hosted by the University, who contacted the UK's biggest synthetic surface maintenance specialist, Technical Surfaces, before the event to ensure that the facility was in prime condition and to smarten up their pitch.
The company's specialist HYDROTECH® service is highly effective on water-based pitches, which themselves are the preferred playing surfaces for top-level Hockey matches.
This intensive process helps to remove the majority of contamination and vegetation present in the carpet itself. Ultimately, the removal of this vegetation and moss helps to restore traction to pitches, thus ensuring a safe, useable and aesthetically pleasing surface.
Operatives from Technical Surfaces were able to attend the site to complete these works at short notice, after they received a call for help from the site Operations Manager, Neil Sheppard.
Following the intensive cleaning of the HYDROTECH®, the company then returned to site to carry out line marking works to restore the clarity and definition of the Hockey lines in time for the tournament with highly satisfying results for the University.
Neil Sheppard explains; "We were up against tight deadlines to ensure the pitch was rejuvenated and re-lined prior to the event and to make sure it looked its best. Technical Surfaces were able to accommodate our requests without any issues, despite the short notice. We had great feedback from the event, with high praise especially for the playing surface; the pitch looked brand new despite being five years old".
Whatever your pitch type, whether it's water-based, sand-filled or third generation; Technical Surfaces have the experience and maintenance programme to suit.
