Swedes invade Hayter

Hayter are recognised in the UK as one of the leading manufacturers in commercial turf care. They are well known outside the UK but not to the same extent. That situation is changing quickly though, particularly in Scandinavia where Hayter are making big inroads. In 2004 Hayter's Danish distributor received the "Hayter International Dealer of the Year Award" for the previous year. With the efforts that Hayter's Swedish distributors are making to increase sales, it looks like the situation could be very different in 2005.

Towards the end of 2004, during 8 separate visits, 130 municipality and golf course customers visited the Hayter factory in Bishops Stortford in company with staff from Golfmaskiner AB, the Hayter distributor in Sweden. The first afternoon was spent at The Imperial War Museum in Duxford followed by an evening in a typical English pub. The next day was when the work was done with the morning being spent at the factory touring the manufacturing, design, service, and parts areas. During the afternoon, the visitors learnt much more about individual products and most importantly, had an opportunity to ask searching questions about any aspect of Hayter's activities.

Commenting on the series of visits Peter Jonsson, Managing Director of Golfmaskiner AB said. "I was pleased to hear from our customers the many positive comments made about Hayter products and in particular, the after sales support. These visits have been a great help in promoting Hayter products throughout Sweden. As well as inviting existing customers to Hayter, we also invited potential customers who have not yet bought Hayter products. After going to the factory, a number of those potential customers have now promised to buy from us. Golfmaskiner certainly see a promising future for Hayter products in Sweden."
