Warrington based Stuart Canvas, the UK's leading manufacturer of bespoke sports, commercial and industrial covers, announces today the acquisition of JMS Cricket. The purchase of JMS Cricket increases Stuart Canvas's breadth of offer and brings efficiencies of manufacturing processes to both companies.

Over the last 15 years, JMS Cricket has built a reputation for delivering affordable mobile covers as well as sightscreens, mobile cricket nets, pitch protectors, slip catching cradles, artificial wickets and field equipment. The products compliment Stuart Canvas's existing range of quality and premium cricket covers and together they are now able to meet the equipment needs and price ranges of all cricket clubs whether amateur or county grounds.

Both companies will continue to trade under their existing names but the purchase will bring efficiencies to the manufacturing process, with Stuart Canvas's new 25,000 sq ft premises in Warrington becoming the principal manufacturing site.

Ed Stoddart, Chief Executive of Stuart Canvas, comments: "JMS Cricket is a great strategic fit for the business and allows us to capture and serve even more of the cricket market. Both companies have good reputations in the cricket world and will continue to provide complimentary and yet quite different offers to customers."

Jonathan Smith, a former first class cricket groundsman and founder of JMS Cricket, adds; "We are delighted to have come together with Stuart Canvas who are leaders in this field and together we very much look forward to providing a one stop shop for the modern day groundsman."

Stuart Canvas is the UK's leading manufacturer of sports ground covers (including tennis, cricket and frost covers), canvas covers and haulage covers. Established in 1975, the company has over 35 years experience in manufacturing PVC and cotton tarpaulins for both the sports and haulage industries - such as tennis covers, cricket covers, frost, ground and canvas covers.
