September Courses at the Sports Turf Academy
In September, the Sports Turf Academy is offering two short courses: the BASIS Crop Protection in Amenity Horticulture and the Sports Turf Academy Award.
The BASIS qualification is a highly regarded technical certification for turf professionals, including aspiring turf managers, greenkeepers, sports turf operatives, technical advisors, and agronomists. The course covers legislation, plant identification, and plant biology, and is legally required for advising on the technical use of plant protection products/pesticides. It combines classroom instruction, practical exercises, and online learning, and includes the BCPC UK Pesticide Guide 2024. This course runs from September 10th to October 18th.
The Sports Turf Academy Award blends practical and classroom learning across five intensive modules, covering irrigation, turf basics, precision cylinder mower setup, line marking, and supervisory management. Participants can complete the entire course or individual modules. This course runs from September 2nd to September 6th.
Delivered at the LCFC Training Ground, Sports Turf Academy in Seagrave, Leicester, these courses provide opportunities to develop hands-on practical skills and technical knowledge.
