Sir Bernard Lovell 005.jpgStudents often dread the start of the new academic year and who can blame them? Long lie-ins and lazy sunny days are replaced by early starts and homework. However, the students of Sir Bernard Lovell School in Bristol have an alternative reason to look forward to going back, for they now have first call on their brand new full size artificial pitch. Constructed by A P Thompson using the highly regarded Lano Profoot MXS surface, they now have a facility on which they can play sport all year round.

Campus Manager of the school, David Plumbridge, says "We're absolutely delighted with our new pitch. A P Thompson did a great job finishing on time and the surface is fantastic. Even though it's designed primarily for football, we play other sports on it such as hockey and rugby and it's ideal. The MXS fibre looks just like natural grass, the students and teaching staff love it and it's a dream to play on. Before deciding, we looked at so many different surfaces, but I can honestly say that we made the right decision choosing Lano."

The pitch has also become a revenue stream for the school since the surface has been designed to be hard-wearing and durable - ideal for evening and weekend lettings when the students are away.
