The prestigious Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate in South Africa has renewed a preferred supplier contract with Ransomes Jacobsen for a further three years. The Ipswich based turf equipment manufacturer has supplied approximately £3.2 million of golf course maintenance machinery to the group over the past 8 years

Situated in the heart of South Africa's famed Garden Route, Fancourt is owned by Hasso Plattner, the chairman of SAP, one of the world's leading computer software companies. In November 2003, the Gary Player designed links course hosted The President's Cup which pits the top 12 golfers from the USA against the top 12 golfer in the rest of the world, excluding Europe. In February 2005 it will play host to the inaugural Women's World Cup of Golf.

Kosie Mentz, Resort Superintendent said, "We have over 140 turf maintenance machines and ancillary equipment supplied by Ransomes Jacobsen including Greens King ride-on mowers for the putting surfaces and the new Tournament Cut walk-behind greens mowers, with their ground hugging floating head cylinder system. We also have the recently introduced Jacobsen SLF 1880, which is receiving excellent reviews throughout southern Africa and produces superb-looking manicured fairways."

Ingrid Diesel, General Manager at the complex added, "We are delighted to continue our business partnership with Ransomes Jacobsen and their local distributor, CSE Equipment. We must have partners who understand our business ethos and Ransomes Jacobsen together with their South African distributor have shown a real commitment for the past four years; we have received excellent service and are pleased to continue our arrangement."
