New Sponsor Strengthens the Environment Competition

By Scott MacCallum

The future of BIGGA's highly respected Golf Environment Competition has been secured with the addition of a further sponsor in the shape of Waste2Water.

The company which distributes self contained water recycling and purifying systems joins an already strong stable of sponsors which includes Scotts, Syngenta and WRAP and ensures that the Golf Environment competition, which has been run by BIGGA since 1997, can look forward to an enhanced future.

"Knowing that the funding is in place for the 2005 competition means that we can prepare the entry forms and accompanying literature much earlier than was previously possible. That in turn means more time for the judging which, because of the ever improving quality of entry, is becoming an increasingly onerous task," explained Ken Richardson, BIGGA's Education and Training Manager.

Minchinhampton Golf Club, in Gloucestershire, was presented with the 2004 BIGGA Golf Environment Competition Trophy during Harrogate week.
