If your need is pasture topping or cutting fine turf the Wessex AR is a versatile machine with 1.2m, 1.5m and 1.8m working widths and the option of standard side mounted wheels or in-line rear wheels if you have to work close to fences, borders or under overhanging hedges.
The cutting height range is 25mm to 140mm (1" to 5½") so there is plenty of scope for cutting a variety of areas and in standard form, with the wheels directly in line with the rotors, ground contours can be followed accurately for a close cut without scalping. Dealing with brambles, bracken, long grass and dense vegetation is all in a day's work for the Wessex AF/AFC flail mowers, and they are just as much at home doing maintenance in forestry and woodland areas. So they are ideally suited to meeting the needs of contractors, farmers and estate owners.
You can choose a side mounted side mounted (AF) or central mounted (AFC) engine option and 1.2m and 1.6m working widths, with four variants of wheel configuration. This offers a wide range of applications and satisfies the legal requirements of the British HSE. The stability of the AFC is ideally suited to working on steep banks.
There's a full-width anti scalp roller to take the weight of the machine should a wheel drop into a rut and a triple belt drive for performance and reliability. The 5mm steel plate deck offers durability and strength and heavy-duty y-pattern flails effectively mulch material for even distribution.
