Additional turf maintenance equipment has been delivered to Carluke Golf Club in Lanarkshire by Fairways GM, Ransomes Jacobsen's local dealer for the region.

Carluke is a rolling parkland course with views over the Clyde Valley. In recent years course manager Andy Colquhoun has added new greens to a number of holes, enhancing what is already a fine course.

To keep the course in immaculate condition Andy and the Greens Committee drew up a specification which included a new fairway mower and a compact tractor. They then invited the main leading manufacturers to demonstrate their equipment and eventually selected the Ransomes Jacobsen package as their preferred option.

Included in the package was a Jacobsen LF3800 light fairway mower, an Iseki TG5470 compact tractor and an E-Z-GO MPT utility vehicle.

The 11th hole typifies the rolling nature of the course and drops 150 feet to a green surrounded by four bunkers. "The LF3800 is a powerful machine and that's why it was chosen as the fairway machine", says Andy, "It has plenty of traction to tackle the undulations around the course. The Iseki tractor meets our needs and with its front loader is a versatile workhorse. We like the MPT as it's a great runaround; nippy with a good carrying capacity."
