Scott Purdy gets new position at Bernhard
Bernhard is delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Purdy to their UK sales team.
Scott, who will join the company in June, takes on the role of Territory Manager for the northern areas of England and Wales.
A graduate of Reaseheath and Myerscough colleges, Scott has enjoyed a career progression through the ranks at Ashbourne Golf Club to Head Greenkeeper and latterly at Willesley Park Golf Club.
"I decided after 22 years in Greenkeeping that it was time to make a change in my career and I look forward to the challenge of something new. Bernhard is a company with a good reputation, I know the product, I know the people, and felt it was the perfect move. It will be very exciting and I can't wait to get going."
Peter Wood, CEO said, "We are very pleased to welcome Scott to the team. He brings with him a wealth of experience of British greenkeeping and an enthusiastic and progressive approach to support our customers".
Born in Ashbourne in the Derbyshire Dales, Scott and his wife Nicola and their 7 year old son Seth now live in Derby.
Scott ran the London Marathon this Spring and was rather matter-of-fact about it. "It's the first London Marthathon I've ever run, and the first full marathon, and I have to say, it was hard. A good friend of mine enters all his mates every year, and I got lucky. It was fantastic up to 20 miles in, I did that in just under 3 hours, but the last 6 miles took me over an hour. I hurt everywhere, with cramps and aching and I got terrible fatigue - but the atmosphere was incredible and the crowd do keep you going."
