Setting Industry Standards, the Land Drainage Contractors Association (LDCA) makes their informative booklet, Guidelines for Sports Turf Drainage Installation, available at IOG Saltex.

"This booklet is a vital tool for all those looking at installing or upgrading their drainage system," says secretary of the association, Bruce Brockway.
Having established standards recognized by the whole sports industry - including Sport England and the Football Foundation - all LDCA member contractors undertake work to the highest levels.

Operating a Quality Assurance Scheme, projects are carried out by contractors who possess full liability insurance, adopt current health and safety legislation, use British standard materials and provide a warranty endorsing the quality of workmanship and materials used.

Up-to-the-minute information relating to water management issues is also available.

DROUGHT is a highly topical issue - 2006 proving as dry as 2003 - with settlement of drainage trenchlines on sports and amenity turf particularly severe in certain areas. Of value to all those responsible for tackling this problem, the LDCA has produced a special information sheet offering sound solutions.
