Lawn company sports racing mowers

By Carol Dutton

Two racing lawn mowers (borrowed courtesy of The British Lawn Mower Racing Association) will hover above The Lawn Company's stand as Weed Free, once again, field their sister operation The Lawn Company.

Building on the success of their first Saltex appearance in 2002 when they secured a £20,000 contract during the first 15 minutes of the show, The lawn Company has continued to make substantial inroads into the amenity sector, not only delivering ongoing, professional maintenance to bowling greens, tennis clubs and croquet lawns, but also tackling landscape and small sports field projects.

"Despite the drought of 2003, sales increased by over 40%," reports MD Mike Seaton, "and although the company was originally devised to provide professional grass care to domestic lawns, we've found that this is only part of our business. As a van based operation, The Lawn Company carries a total turf care package in a single unit, which gives it a manoeuvrability which compliments the activities of Weed Free."
