Lantra ploughing ahead with boosting its ranks during major agricultural competition
Lantra, the UK's leading awarding organisation providing training and qualifications for the land-based sector, is set to join hundreds of ploughmen at a major annual event to promote both the importance of ongoing professional career development and, highlight opportunities that exist to join their highly respected team as a training Instructor.
Representatives from Lantra will be manning a stand at the forthcoming 71st British National Ploughing Championships & Country Festival, which is held on the Chatsworth Estate, near Glapwell, North East Derbyshire, on Saturday October 8 and Sunday October 9.
The event will be packed with competitions for many types of plough and styles of ploughing, the highpoint of which will be when the British Champions are crowned, and the top competitors are selected to represent England at the 2023 World and European Ploughing Championships.
Running alongside the ploughing competitions there will be displays from vintage tractors and machinery. Local dealers will be demonstrating their latest farm equipment and a host of agricultural trade stands will be on hand to provide information and advice in a variety of land-based interests.
Lantra will be at the championships to not only provide information on its wide range of agricultural training courses and qualifications, but also offer advice and guidance on how those already working in the sector can tap into a potential new income stream by becoming a Lantra Instructor across a range of different land-based skills areas.
These skills areas include - tractor driving, tractor attachments, ATVs, 4x4, animal transport, livestock handling, veterinary and much more besides.
Stephen Roberts, Head of the Instructor Network at Lantra said: "This is the first time we have attended such an event spotlighting training and our potential new career opportunities in the farming and agriculture sector."
Stephen continued: "We have a number of assessment days in January, where potential new Instructors will be put through their paces. If everything goes to plan, it means that by February 2023 you could be a Lantra Instructor within your chosen skills area, ready to educate the future generation of learners.
"So, if you want to learn more about our training courses, or how to become a freelance Lantra Instructor, then I urge you to come to this event and visit our stand at what is a major highlight in the ploughing and agricultural community calendar."
