During this very cold period, timing of repair to pitch from scrum and line-out damage is very important. Once the frost has dispersed from the rootzone, replace divots and raise indentations with a hand fork. The areas in question may require hand aerating and top dressed with a similar mixture of rootzone to "level up" the surface.

Slit tine the whole pitch if conditions allow. This will help in drying out the surface in these still, cold, windless days ahead.

A light roll or brush prior to marking out for match day will produce a good finish to pitch presentation.
