General Secretary Vasyl Babichuk and Anatoliy Kolosha, Head Groundsman at Dynamo Kiev visited Ransomes Jacobsen's European headquarters in the Suffolk town to complete the signing of a £140,000 order for turf maintenance equipment.

The equipment includes four Ransomes Mastiff walk behind mowers, two Cushman Turf Truckster utility vehicles, a Ryan GA60 aerator and a Ransomes Fairway 305 ride on mower and will be added to the existing machinery purchased by Dynamo Kiev. It will be used to maintain their stadium pitch and training facilities on the outskirts of Ukraine's capital city.

As part of their visit the two representatives visited Ipswich Town's Portman Road stadium and the Bent Lane training centre and met with head groundsman Alan Ferguson. They were able to discuss the relative merits of pitch maintenance in the UK and Ukraine and Mr Ferguson was also able to provide detailed information on the Ransomes products, as ITFC has an exclusive supplier contract with Ransomes Jacobsen.

Scott Forrest, Ransomes Jacobsen's Export Sales Manager for North Europe said, "The Ransomes name is well respected in the former Soviet Union and we have excellent contacts in Ukraine. We have also supplied equipment to FC Shakthar and at the moment have an order for a total of £120,000 from three other clubs in the Ukraine. The support of Ipswich Town FC and the knowledge of Alan Ferguson is also a great benefit when we entertain visitors such as this."
