Instant Stadium for Saltex 2004

Press Release

The construction of an 'instant stadium' at this year's IOG SALTEX show (7-9 September, Windsor Racecourse, Berks), is an exciting new development that will reinforce the exhibition as Europe's annual flagship event for the open space management industry. Being jointly developed by the exhibition organisers - The Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) and Penton Media Europe - the new project will cover a total area of 30 m by 50 m. It will contain every component part required in a 'professional' stadium complex and will illustrate how these elements can be hired and 'instantly' erected.

With the 476 m² 'playing area' divided equally between artificial and turf pitches, the IOG SALTEX instant stadium will contain, for example, arena seating, dressing rooms and showers, toilets, catering facility, PA system, first aid point, mobile flood lighting, large screen display, portable goals (and other equipment), clubroom accommodation and gate control (turnstiles), as well as barrier fencing.

Commenting on the project, IOG chief executive Patrick Gosset says: "Within days of announcing the instant stadium, the feedback from the sports equipment supply industry has been very encouraging, and the project is already looking a great success.

"With the emphasis on providing everything required for an instant, yet professional arena while complying with health and safety legislation, the instant stadium is yet another example of how IOG SALTEX is continually being developed and enhanced to reflect the needs of both our exhibitors and visitors."

With more than 90 per cent of stand space already booked, IOG SALTEX is aimed at everyone involved in open space management from groundsmen and greenkeepers through to architects, designers and surveyors as well as local authority and leisure facility managers. The show focuses on fine turf and sports, turf maintenance equipment, children's play and safety surfacing, commercial vehicles, leisure and facilities management and software as well as security equipment.
