Ingersoll Rand sectors in Belgium announce move to new facilities
Press Release
The European-Served Area head office for the Compact Vehicle Technologies Sector - comprising Bobcat and Club Car - and the Construction Technologies Sector of Ingersoll Rand, has announced that it will begin a move to new facilities in the near future. The present facilities in Lot, Belgium, include administrative offices, a bonded warehouse import-export operation and sales and aftermarket training facilities.
Under the planned restructuring, the administrative operations will be moved in June to the recently built Atrium office building in Waterloo, Belgium. The Atrium consists of two buildings, a 4-storey building on the left and a 5-storey building on the right, joined in the centre by an atrium. Ingersoll Rand will rent and occupy the ground and first floors of both buildings with a total surface area of about 3,000 m².
The warehousing operation, for its part, will be subcontracted to Fiege, a specialized supplier of logistics services located in Puurs, in the Antwerp area, in Belgium. The Bobcat Parts Service operations presently run by Fiege in Mülheim, Germany, will also relocate to Puurs.
The training facilities will be relocated to Ingersoll Rand's compact equipment manufacturing facility in Dobris, ca. 35 km southwest of Prague in the Czech Republic.
Under current plans, by the end of 2006, all operations at the Lot-based facility will have been terminated.
Commenting on the move of the administrative operations to Waterloo, Jean-Philippe Dara, Vice President Human Resources, said: "The Atrium meets a number of important and practical criteria for company personnel. We also had to find a location which is a good compromise between the airports in Brussels, Charleroi, and Lille (in France), all of which we need to be able to reach easily."
With regard to the Atrium, Jean-Philippe Dara explained: "its location near a business centre as well as in the proximity of hotels, other businesses, restaurants and international schools was an undeniable advantage. The modern architecture, quality of construction and the cost-value relationship of the building were also important criteria in the decision to move to Waterloo."
The address of the new administrative office is: Ingersoll Rand, Drève Richelle 167, B-1410 Waterloo, Belgium.
