To help with preparation for a major PGA Europro Tour in June, Heydon Grange Golf and Country Club near Royston in Hertfordshire, have bought a John Deere 3235C fairway mower and John Deere 2500A greens mower. The purchase of these machines continues the policy of Heydon Grange to standardise on John Deere products through the local dealer, A J & R Scambler and Sons Ltd.

The PGA Europro Tour started in early 2002 to give experience of life on the Tour to up and coming professionals and to prepare them for the challenges of the main European Tour. Events on the Europro Tour are televised and courses have to be as challenging and as well maintained as those on the main Tour. Heydon Grange have ambitious plans for the future and are determined to do everything possible to make the event a success. Buying new grass cutting equipment is only part of the expenditure. Considerable investment has been made to every aspect of the course and the green staff are working long hours in preparation for the big event.

Course owner John Akhtar commented. "We have spent an enormous amount of money on the course but we will always be judged on the appearance of the course on the day. The performance and reliability of course machinery is of the utmost importance to us and we cannot afford to be let down. John Deere equipment has exceeded our demanding expectations as has the support from Scamblers with whom we have had a close working relationship for over 10 years."
