Glendale choose Indespension for BAA contract

Glendale Grounds Maintenance, one of the largest private contractors in the UK recently won the prestigious British Airports Authority grounds maintenance contract. The airports to be maintained are Southampton and the London airports at Heathrow, Stansted and Gatwick,

Airport contracts are particularly demanding, not only because of the importance of the areas around the terminal buildings to look in pristine condition, but more importantly because of the precise way that the grass has to be maintained on the airfield. Being either too long or too short could attract birds with the danger of a bird strike in the engines. To enable maintenance equipment to be moved quickly and efficiently to any part of the airport, Glendale have chosen trailers from Indespension, in particular the Challenger G23106 and Beavertail B35167.

Contract Manager for BAA, David Goddard, commented. "We know that we can get a call at any time of the day or night to carry out maintenance and we have to respond immediately. Inevitably we rely very heavily on machinery and trailers to get them to where they are required. Our experiences of Indespension trailers and the support we get from their regional trailer centres when we need service means that they will continue to be the first choice for Glendale."
