Who are you? Dave Gammon, very partime groundsman at West Bridgford Sports Club.
Family status? Married, with two children and six grandkids.
Who's your hero and why? Bruce Dooland, one of the best cricketers in my growing up years.
What would you change about yourself? I'd be more tolerant of the ill-informed.
What's your guilty pleasure? Chocolate.
What's been the highlight of your career so far? Being able to improve the condition of the cricket wickets year on year.
Which three people, living or dead, would you invite to a dinner party? C B Fry, he could play any sport. Rachel Heyhoe-Flint on how she sees women's cricket now. Charlie Williams to make us all laugh.
If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be and why? It's bad enough being me, nevermind anyone else
Do you have any bad habits? Probably, yes.
... or any good ones? I shouldn't think so.
Do you go to bed worrying about the next day's workload? Not normally, just what the weather's going to do.
What are you reading at the moment? Just read 'How to become a Test Cricketer' by R C Robertson-Glasgow.
What are your pet peeves? Lack of respect for the cricket square. Arrogance.
If you could go anywhere right now, where would it be? The pub across the road.
What's the best part of your job? Working on one's own.
… and the worst? Marking out in the rain.
Do you have a lifetime ambition? Not anymore.
Favourite record, and why? Not into music, so no favourites.
Who would you choose to spend a romantic evening with? It would have to be the good lady wife.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Sit back and smile.
If you were to describe yourself as a musical instrument, what would you be and why? A triangle - keep hitting it and it will make enough noise.
What's the best advice you have ever been given? You need to move sideways (trying to keep wicket for the first time at school).
What's your favourite smell? Newly mown grass.
What do you do in your spare time? Watch sport.
What's the daftest work related question you have ever been asked? They know not to ask daft ones, but normally weather related.
What's your favourite piece of kit? Our Auto-roller wicket roller, what a difference from the old Stothert & Pitt one we had.
What three words would you use to describe yourself? Quiet, overweight and getting bald
What talent would you like to have? To be a better cricket groundsman.
What law/legislation would you like to see introduced? Banning of smoking in all open spaces, i.e. sports ground where children are playing.
