Who are you? Chris Haspell, Course Manager at Castle Stuart.

Family status? Married to Kay, with two boys, Reece and Callum.

Who's your hero and why? Douglas Bader, nothing ever stopped him.

What would you change about yourself? Lose a couple of stone (maybe more).

What's your guilty pleasure? Porsche cars and tractors.

What do you drop everything for? My family.

What's been the highlight of your career so far? Lots of them, but Castle Stuart winning the Scottish Open is right up there.

Glass half full or half empty? Full.

Climate change - fact or fiction? Some fact, some fiction.

What's your favourite season? Autumn.

What are your pet peeves? Anyone being late.

If you could go anywhere right now, where would it be? Antigua.

What's the best part of your job? Man management.

… and the worst? The weather.

Do you have a lifetime ambition? To fly in a Spitfire and to manage an Open Championship venue.

Who wouldn't you like to be? Any politician.

Favourite record, and why? King, Love and Pride (did I just put that?) - reminds me of great times with great friends.

Who would you choose to spend a romantic evening with? My wife, she's great.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Take a long holiday and buy a Landcruiser.

If you were to describe yourself as a musical instrument, what would you be and why? A guitar, easy to get along with once you know it.

What's the best advice you have ever been given? It's better to regret what you have done than what you have not.

What's your favourite smell? Curry.

What do you do in your spare time? Cricket, golf and classic cars.

What's the daftest work related question you have ever been asked? Why are the greens slower up hill into the wind?

What's your favourite piece of kit? Our excavator.

What three words would you use to describe yourself? Honest, reliable, motivated.

What talent would you like to have? The ability to turn back time.

What law/legislation would you like to see introduced? That all planning applications are treated equally and have the same restrictions enforced.
