Essential Management Skills training from Pitchcare
Essential Management Skills training from Pitchcare
In March, Pitchcare held a Media Training Course at the Headquarters of Same Deutz-Fahr UK, in Rugby, Warwickshire. A group of Head Groundsmen from leading cricket, rugby and football clubs gathered to learn how to adopt a positive approach to dealing with the media and how to prepare for, and take part in television and radio interviews.
"There are plenty of courses that we can do that help us to improve as groundsmen……but how do we learn to be good managers?" was one of the comments we received from a delegate on the course. Media training is just one in a whole range of management skills that they've acquired to compliment formal qualifications such as NVQ, HNC, HND and MSc.
Later this year, Pitchcare will run its first 'Essential Management Skills' course, delivered by trainer and careers counsellor Frank Newberry. Frank has trained groundsmen and greenkeepers for more than 15 years and this new course is aimed at helping those in a supervisory or management position to acquire a range of vital management skills and put them into practice successfully in the workplace.
A course itinerary is show below. Three months separate the two days so delegates have the opportunity to implement new techniques and then feed their experiences back to the group. Attendance certificates will be provided to delegates who complete the course. For further information please email Ellie Tait at ellie@pitchcare.com or phone the Pitchcare office on 01902 824392.
