ELIET Chooses Briggs & Stratton engines.

Press Release

One of the leading garden and landscaping equipment manufacturers in Europe has announced it will only use Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power engines in its award winning shredders.

Belgium-based ELIET has established itself as one of the leaders in shredding technology. With more than 25 years' experience in commercial turf applications, its innovative designs are backed up by state-of-the-art Briggs & Stratton engines, creating high performance shredding systems that are used for commercial and private use throughout Europe.

The company specialises in green waste recycling, lawn care and debris management and since the achievement of the Golden Ear Award at Agribex in 1994, has led the way in garden machinery innovation. In addition to shredders, its extensive range includes blowers, edge cutters and scarifyers. It has developed unique patented systems that enhance user benefits and that clearly differentiate it from the competition.

ELIET's unique designs, combined with the reliability of Briggs & Stratton engines, have resulted in machines that have lower horse power requirements, reduced wear and maintenance and an easier in-feed of materials.

Frederic Lietaer, managing director of ELIET said:

"We develop all of our products so that they have wide and multiple uses. This added flexibility and convenience creates increased value and output, not only in the performance of the tool but from the supplementary advantages of its design."

ELIET has been working with Briggs & Stratton engines since it built its first machine 30 years ago.

"Briggs & Stratton has a well-balanced product range that creates a number of possibilities for manufacturers to choose an ideal product to suit the exact functions of each machine."

One of the company's leading models is the ELIET Super Prof. This mobile shredder can shred any green waste into fast composting chips with a minimum amount of energy. The award winning design, teamed with the reliability of the 18HP Briggs & Stratton V-Twin Vanguard™ engine, means that even after 2000 hours, the ELIET Super Prof can still shred with maximum efficiency.

The latest achievement to be added to ELIET's extensive range is the Mega Prof.
This new feat of engineering and design, which uses the unique ELIET 'Choppingprinciple™, was the first shredder in Europe to use a Briggs & Stratton 26.5 HP Vanguard™ 3 Cylinder Diesel engine to generate an incredible shredding capacity of 15cm diameter. The compact, lightweight engine is ideal for the mobile shredder, which can fit through a gateway as small as 90cm and does not exceed the ground pressure of a professional ride-on lawn mower.

"The Vanguard line is premium quality and ensures our professional machines keep running even in the harshest conditions. They also stand out for their low noise and low vibration profile. These engines meet the expectations of our products and help to underline our reputation for quality."

In addition to the shredding machinery, the ELIET Truck Loader is one of the company's latest developments in the field of leaf vacuums. The professional machine relies on the 16 HP Vanguard™ V-Twin engine to provide constant power. This allows the impeller to maintain a fixed number of revolutions, resulting in a stable suction that can even collect leaves stuck to the road surface.

ELIET's wide range of products are mostly used professionally in municipal areas such as parks and woods as well as golf courses. Rental companies across Europe are also important customers, including HSS, Brico and Rentas and one of its most unusual customers is the Commonwealth which selected ELIET for the upkeep of the World War Graves across Europe.

Paul Bramhall, Briggs & Stratton product category manager - Commercial Power, said:

"Commercial turf applications like the ELIET Mega Prof make enormous demands on an engine's performance and reliability. We are delighted that ELIET consider our powerful Vanguard range as the best for the job."
Employing about 40 people, ELIET is the market leader in Belgium and is steadily growing its share in the wider European market.

"Reliability and performance are of the utmost importance when we design our machinery and Briggs & Stratton share these values. The engines are impressively powerful but because they are so light and compact are also very economical. I hope that our continued partnership will help ELIET maintain its leading place in the market."
