E-Z-GO Golf Cars generate winter income for Dyrham Park Country Club

Dyrham 0246.jpgDyrham Park Country Club, set in 200 acres of rolling Hertfordshire countryside on the outskirts of Barnet, is the latest club to purchase a fleet of electric E-Z-GO RXV golf cars. Supplied by local dealer, Ernest Doe and Sons, the 12-strong fleet comes complete with onboard chargers and the labour-saving battery fill system (BFS).

David Adams is the general manager at Dyrham Park and has been involved with golf for the past 14 years. Before joining Dyrham Park 18 months ago, he spent 12 years as secretary at The RAC Club in Epsom.

Commenting on the new fleet he said,
"We undertook some detailed and comprehensive research into the golf car market before making our final decision. We felt that the RXV offered greater scope and opportunities and we've been proved correct. My job is all about adding benefit for members and with the RXV we've been able to do just that."

Using AC technology allows the speed of the RXV to be adjusted to suit the condition of the course. In the case of Dyrham Park, the fleet was delivered in early November 2009, and the speed set at 8 mph. This allowed the fleet to be used during the winter months as David Adams explains.

"Running the buggies at 8 mph allowed us to use them throughout the winter, in all but the most extreme conditions, causing only minimal turf damage on the odd occasion. This meant that members could continue to play, when previously they would not be able to get around." he added. "Now that the spring is upon us and the ground conditions are better, we are able to increase the speed, which obviously helps us manage traffic through the course.

Dyrham 0252.jpg"The build quality of the RXV is excellent and we particularly like the four year warranty. We have two caddy masters here and they are responsible for the fleet. We really do look after our vehicles and they are always clean, fully charged and well maintained. They should have a good residual value, when we eventually replace them further down the line.

"One other comment I would like to make is about the service we received from E-Z-GO and Ernest Doe. The pre-sale and after sales service has been exemplary; nothing has been too much trouble and it was a smooth transaction from start to finish culminating with the delivery, right on schedule. All in all, it's been a very positive experience
