Events took place at BIGGA headquarters, Aldwark Manor, and The Oxfordshire and included seminars on drainage, design and construction, together with why good drainage is essential for sports playing surfaces.

With a spate of wetter weather conditions forecast, as a result of climate change, golf clubs, sports clubs, local authorities and Groundsmen were shown ways to solve their drainage problems. Installation techniques, using the latest dedicated machinery for pipe
installation, were demonstrated by the AbbotPrNigelWyatt1202.jpg

"Installing land drainage systems requires a combination of the correct experience, coupled with dedicated installation equipment," says Nigel Wyatt, Contracts Director at MJ Abbott.

"We use specially adapted laser controlled trenchers to ensure the installation of primary piped and secondary drainage systems is to a
consistently high standard."
