The condition of the two 18-hole championship standard golf courses at Mentmore Golf and Country Club, near Leighton Buzzard, are continually being improved for the benefit of members and visitors and Wiedenmann UK have played a major role. WiedMentmore.jpg

The Glasgow based turf equipment manufacturer has recently delivered a Terra Spike deep aerator to owners Clubhaus, to replace their existing Wiedenmann P160 machine which has provided sterling service for the past 11 years.

Chris Brook, Course Manager commented, "London clay is the main soil structure here at Mentmore and compaction can be a problem. We aerate all areas of the playing surfaces as often as is practical and the major benefit of the new XP210 is its productivity. We can aerate a green in just 15 minutes and with the hydraulic front roller on this new machine we can adjust the depth from the tractor cab as ground conditions dictate.

"We specified a wide selection of needle, solid and hollow tines to give us the versatility to aerate on our fairways, tees, surrounds and greens to a depth of up to 40cm, if required, and across a 2.1 metre width. This really is a quick and versatile piece of equipment."
