Clubs who dump managers not operating in real world

Last week I dubbed the golf club secretary-managers as "the most endangered species in the country." My point was that in their haste to cut costs, club committees often put the hard-pressed secretary-manager in the firing line, but they don't always appreciate the value of the job done, day in, day out, by the club front man.
