Calculating green sizes

Many Greens are roughly elliptical (egg-shaped). If your Green is like this, you can estimate its area and perimeter using a couple of quick measurements and the two accompanying tables. d1 and d2 are the two diameters; one between the ends of the long width (usually in the direction of play), the other at right angles to it, between ends of the short width. Any units will do; meters, yards or feet; the area will just be in square meters, square yards or square feet correspondingly.

If you want your Greens more accurately measured (and your Bunkers, Fairways and Tees), you could just ask Tonick to measure them for you using their accurately scaled aerial photograph of your course.
