RECOGNISING THE IMPORTANCE OF SHARP BLADES, for the highest standards of fine
turf presentation, the European Tour has officially requested continuing
support from Bernhard and Company's team for its PGA events - throughout
Europe and other parts of the world.
Bernhard's own turf specialists, using Express Dual 3000DX and Anglemaster
3000DX, have been helping to produce that vital fine cut on prestigious golf
courses at most major events.
Bernhard factory based technicians have worked preparing the German and
French Masters, together with other important events in Portugal, Italy,
Switzerland, Madeira and even in Brazil. Closer to home, the English Open at
the Forest of Arden Club and the Smurf Open at the K Club in Ireland have
also received support from this unique action team.
Technicians Steven Nixon and Paul McKenna provided full technical support in
the US at Bear Lakes. Lionel Smith, Equipment Manager at the club, says:
"I was greatly impressed by the speed, accuracy and quality of the grinders."
Covering this six day competition, the grinding programme was extensive and
included grinding and setting up twelve Toro 1000 greens mowers on a daily
basis, together with sharpening twelve Jacobsen Greens king 4 units for the
tees and surrounds.
Commenting on the fact that the quality of turf finish on many courses is now
greatly improved with this service, the European Tour has requested
continuing support from the Bernhard team for 2002 and on into the future.
