Sustainable best practice is the focus for the Bayer Turf and Amenity Solutions Team at The Amenity Forum, who will be on hand to discuss integrated pest and disease management and the range of total and selective herbicides available.

The Bayer solutions can be used in both the vegetation management and the sports turf sectors, and will be on showcased on the Bayer stand at the event on October 13.

"We'll be displaying the innovative new easyFlow technology developed by Bayer and will also discuss the importance of best practice including resistance management and correct application rates," says Colin Mumford, Bayer technical manager.

The easyFlow is designed to improve operator safety when tank mixing or filling, and is the first closed, contamination-avoiding, self-cleaning transfer system for liquid plant protection products on the market.

"The state of the art system has been proven to improve health and safety of the operator by up to 96% by reducing spillage and exposure with its closed transfer and rinsing system. This will in turn save money, because it reduces waste, as well as being better for the environment," says Colin.

The Bayer team will be on hand to discuss appropriate use of selective and non-selective herbicides to reduce resistance. Pistol® is a non-selective herbicide for the control of annual and perennial weeds and grasses, on soft and gravel surfaces in amenity situations.

As an all-in-one herbicide, Pistol® also offers reduced risk of spillage and a cost saving, as it does not need to have glyphosate added to it.

Finale® 150 is a contact acting total herbicide which controls both grasses and broad leaved weeds and can be used on hard surfaces. The product can also be used for preparing turf for line marking and it combats the difficult to control weed - Field Horsetail (Equisetum arvense).
