Aidan Bradley announced as GEO photography partner
The Golf Environment Organisation's new website, featuring the groundbreaking GEO Certification programme for golf facilities, went live at the BMW PGA Championship in May 2009. GEO is delighted to formally announce a partnership that sees the world-class golf photography of Aidan Bradley showcased throughout the site.
A non-profit organisation headquartered in Scotland, GEO is endorsed by major golf and environmental organisations worldwide. Its highly experienced team are working to raise awareness within the sector, promote sustainable management practices, and achieve wide-scale recognition for golf's ability to enhance environmental quality and human wellbeing.
While the level of public understanding and expectation around environmental issues continues to increase, golf can take credit for remaining largely ahead of the curve. However, while this ongoing improvement is well recognised internally, golf is still struggling to represent its achievements outside the sector.
The groundbreaking GEO Certification programme is helping to redress this misconception by enabling golf facilities worldwide to confidently demonstrate that they are social, economic and environmental assets. www.golfenvironment.org is now recognised as a one-stop-shop for improving environmental performance and credibly communicating outcomes.
Of course it goes without saying that all visitors to the site will enjoy a world tour of stunning golf landscapes as they navigate the Internet's most user-friendly golf and environment resource. This has been made possible by the tremendous contribution of GEO's newest patron:
Although Irish photographer Aidan Bradley now calls California home, he boasts an extensive portfolio from both sides of the Atlantic. Having been called upon to shoot some of the world's greatest golf courses, Aidan's images are often seen gracing the covers of prestigious golf publications. He's a regular contributor to coffee table books such as "Nicklaus by Design", and Golf Digest's "Top 100 Courses You Can Play". Speaking of his new partnership with GEO, Aidan said:
"I am firmly aligned with GEO's principles and stated belief that golf should be good for people and the environment. These guys are building a momentum around responsible golf management and development that is hard to resist. They make a passionate case for the benefits of innovative environmental design and accessible, integrated golf. I'm delighted to see my work showcased in this fashion, and believe GEO's site will very quickly come to be recognised as the premier on-line resource for golf and environment issues.
Benjamin Warren, GEO's Director of Communications was delighted to see this final aspect of the new site slot into place:
"We needn't underestimate the gravity of this partnership for GEO. Aidan's work really is unsurpassed; he is at the top of the game.
"When we set about formalising our concept for the site, it was clear we would look to support our core message with captivating and inspiring images. The classic golf courses of the world typically share one key element - they either complement or enhance the landscape in which they are situated. In some cases these courses have matured and mellowed into their surroundings, but the best modern architects are capable of synthesizing landscapes and ecosystems that are in tune with their surrounds from day one. GEO is delighted to be showcasing some of this exceptional work through Aidan's photography.
