The stage was the Commonwealth Games venue of the City of Manchester Stadium. Stephen Bowes was the man in charge at the Stadium, working as a contractor for Mallinsons(Ormskirk)Ltd. He tells us of the unusual working conditions he found himself having to fit in with as he maintained the grass infield.
