6,000 members and onwards we go

Another milestone passed. And, like a well maintained piece of turf, we continue to grow steadily and strongly.

Our strength lies in our membership. The more members, the more expertise there is available to share, and the more likely you are to find someone to help you with any problem you may have.

It never fails to amaze me that groundsmen and greenkeepers are so willing to pass on their knowledge and offer help to others. As one seasoned professional commented, " We are not in competition with one another; we are all competing against the same thing - mother nature."

Pitchcare is now established as an important voice in the sports turf industry and we would like to put on record our thanks to all our contributors and sponsors for their help in putting us in that position.

We shall continue to promote the positive side of the industry and highlight areas where we feel there are deficiencies.

Improving the status and standard of groundsmanship and greenkeeping is our priority.

It is our belief that education and freely available information and advice are key elements of that strategy, so Pitchcare is currently looking at the qualification and training maze and, hopefully, finding a way through.

As always, the outcome will be published in full on the site.

Also, watch out for the results of a national Pitchcare survey. It will make interesting (and amusing) reading.
