£1,000 donation to the Industry Careers project
Ransomes Jacobsen, the Ipswich based manufacturer of golf course and municipal turf maintenance equipment, golf cars and turf utility vehicles, has donated £1,000 in support of the Industry Careers Project.
BAGMA is co-ordinating the campaign in a determined effort to raise £100,000 to enhance the profile of career opportunities in the land-based engineering sector.
The fund is currently just over half way to meeting its target and with the first phase of the project due to complete on 31 December, BAGMA's Director General Ian Jones has restated the reasons behind the initiative and the need for further donations.
He said, "We have to encourage young engineers into the industry and stimulate their interest as early as possible. That's why we would like to begin the design and production of the promotional materials as soon as possible and we need to reach our target of £100,000 in order to do so. Donations such as this from Ransomes Jacobsen and all the other contributors show that by working together as an industry we will achieve our aim of highlighting the opportunities for new entrants into the industry."
David Withers, Sales and Marketing Director at Ransomes Jacobsen added, "BAGMA deserve the support of the industry for co-ordinating the project and I would urge anyone who has not yet made a donation, to do so. We all require skilled engineers, whether we are manufacturers, dealers or suppliers to the industry and this initiative needs our support."
